Did you know that God loves every single person no matter how "good" or "bad?"
But the truth is we have all done wrong things and gone against God which means until this is sorted out we don't have a close relationship with him. We are separated from him and the full extent of the good things he has for us in our lives.
Jesus came to save us from this separation and to take the punishment for the wrong things we have done. So now each and every person can call out to him and be saved.
GOD GAVE HIS SON
God showed his immense love for us - he sent his only son Jesus into the world to save everyone who will believe in him.
When we decide to follow Jesus and give our lives over to going his way we also step across the divide between life and death. Of course one day our physical body will die but our inner self will never have to face death. We will live for ever with Jesus. We will have eternal life.
Once for all
When Jesus died on the cross, he was being punished even though he was completely perfect. He had never done even one little sin. He'd never been unkind to anyone or stolen anything. No bad word had ever come out of his mouth. But he was standing in our place, taking our punishment on himself so that we don't have to be punished, if we accept him and what he did for us.
Nothing else has to be done. Jesus did it all for us. We only need to take our step and choose to follow him.
Life to the full
Jesus paid the price so that our lives could be amazing!
He came to do away with things that bind us up: worries, addictions, money problems, sickness - maybe just the plain old stress of living in this mixed up world.
He replaces these things with real, full life. Peace in place of worries, freedom from anything that has a hold on us, better ways of managing money, good health, and he becomes our rock to lean on whatever life may bring.
Way, truth, life
Jesus is the way to the Father.
Because of Jesus we can know God.
God isn't a distant being that created the world and then left us to get on with it. He sees each and every thing that happens to us, good or bad. He sees the good times and he sees the bad, from the most joyful moment to the most painful. The man who wrote the words of this Psalm knew that God the Father was there with him at every twist and turn of life, counting every tear, knowing every painful circumstance - and actually being on his side! Did you know you can have this same relationship with God the Father?
We all look for beauty in our lives. Good relationships, a happy and healthy family. A nice home, good food to eat.
But we see that many things in the world are far from beautiful.
The world was beautiful when God made it. He even walked with Adam and Eve in the perfect garden he had made for them. But when Adam and Eve were tempted and went against God, sin got into the world.
This sin is what ultimately spoils our world. We have all sinned, we can't just blame Adam and Eve or other people for messing things up!
But because of Jesus our lives can be beautiful again. With Jesus in our lives it's like he rubs out the ugly and gives us a fresh, new start that can be filled with everything beautiful that knowing him brings.
